I have my pair of caca triple red in a 1.5 ft tank and they spawned for me. but i also happen to have feeder shrimps in the tank to clear up the

excess food. the eggs are gone after three days of being sighted though female protected the cave still. now i'm not sure if its the filter that

sucked in the fries or they got picked off by shrimps or maybe even the neon tetras inside which i doubt so. any idea if caca's are able to fend off

feeder shrimps from eating the eggs?

What I heard from Eman is that in the day, the female should be able to guard the eggs quite well. However in the night especially when you do not have a night light, the shrimps will eat those eggs...

Feeder shrimps have those nasty long pincers and they will eat anything they can have a grab onto. Including your fishes, fries, eggs etc... Dither fishes will also eat up any free swimming fries.

Why would you want to use feeder shrimps? Get yamatos instead.
