Need help and advice..

I just set up my tank 2 weeks back.
have 1 x delenee base soil
1 x layer nisso soil
1 x top layer ADA soil

2 x 2 x 2 feet tank....

The problem now my moss all dying...pale and brown...siao liao..
I check the KH and is 0 deg!!

my EHIEM inside have normal white bacteria stones,mid is thick micro cotton and top is bio home plus...

CO2 running at 10bbm.
light 1 x 55w
fan running at 26-27..


what is going on???

Good morning Pandaxiong, Moss is a relatively easy plant to cultivate. Your tank is a 222 and your your moss is turning pale and brown. Seems like your light isn't penatrating to the supposed depth.

I don't think the factors of the tank being 2 weeks old or your KH being zero really matter as it isn't fauna you're concern about here. From the other threads, its seems like for a 2ft depth, at least a T5 light is needed, PL is unable to penetrate.

Shouldn't be any problem. My last tank was 1.5ft deep and using PL. Another concern would be the requirement or placement of the particular plants.

The question is "What kind of moss?". Different moss has different requirements. Some moss requires more lighting than others, some cooler water than others etc.

2ft deep tank.. yea, you should be using MH or something other than PL.

However, it may just be the simple case of the moss turning from emersed to submersed form. Most plants are sold in emersed form in shops because cultivation this way is much faster and better.
