So..i came back from work today, and did the usual staring at the fish tank to chill abit, i noticed the wild female has decided to come out from her hiding place (she went missing since mid last week, couldnt find her any where in the tank).. anyway, first thing i noticed about her is the bright yellow coloration on her body..and immediately i spotted FRIES!!! swimming below her as she stays on guard for other fishes that comes too close. There are about 10ish of 'em and i immediately went out to get some fry food. Fingers cross, this first batch of fries will be able to survive under the watchful eyes of their mom. The F1 male is not disturbing much..just swimming around the outer parameter and flaring at the dither fishes tht wants to have a peek at the commotion. Other than that..all is good~!!!

Hahaha.. as of today, I only managed to count 5 of them. They have grown quite alot over the period of 2 weeks, however I noticed there is this particular one tht grows a tad bigger than the rest :S maybe he/she has been enjoying the food. Anyhoo, fingers cross..this 5 will grow til adulthood. ^^

I was wondering whether you removed the parents and left the fries in the grow up tank?

Nope i didnt wasabi, I left them all in the tank with the parents. They are doing fine.. the mother is still on guard, even though they fries are swimming around freely already.
