    Hi guys! Its me again..kekekeke

1)First of all, can anybody explain to me when is it time to top up the tank? There are two pressure gauge readings on my JBJ regulator w/solenoid.

2)Does the pressure readings on both gauges drop to zero once the main valve on the CO2 tank is shut fully? I found the main pressure gauge drop to half of the initial value when the valve is shut then shoot back to the original value when the valve is open and the needle valve pressure gauge to zero once the gas is purge out. I ask this as i suspect my main pressure gauge to be showing the wrong value as it should be zero when the main valve is shut? Or am i wrong?

3)There is backflow problem of tank water into the tubings even with check valve install? Any help with solving that?[]

    3) You mean the water flow back and past your check valve? Did you install the check valve in the correct direction?

Nope. Trying to figure out the gauges too...

    Peter,

The main pressure gauge reads the pressure in the CO2 tank when the main valve is opened. When this is closed, the gauge should show the same reading as before, unless pressure is somehow released. This can be due to manually purging the gas out of the line (like what u did), leakage somewhere or CO2 dissolving.

Main gauge reading should not be zero. If it is, it means that the tank is completely empty. A very dangerous thing to do...moisture and dust can be introduced.

    Hi Peter,

Not sure if I can answer you questions, but here was my experience.

When I first got my CO2, I turned on the main canister knob and the pressure gauge (left one) goes to 1000, according to Chan this means the tank is full. Then what happend was I turned the knob off and the gauge still read 1000. I noticed that when my solonoid was on, and CO2 is still coming out, but slowly the gauge dropped from 1000 to zero, then the CO2 stopped. When I opened the knob again and the gauge jumped to 1000, so I just leave the knob in the open position and leave the rest to the regulator.

I think what happends is that when the knob is turned on, CO2 goes into the regulator (probably there is some kind of small compartment where the pressure is read, and the gauges read this pressure.

    Hope this helps,

there will be back flow - my LFS confirmed it - but it should not (ever) pass the check valve.

So guys when is it the best time to top up CO2? Do I read the main pressure gauge or the other gauge (needle valve pressure gauge i think). How about the safety aspects of removing the regulator? []

when the needle points zero? safety aspects? errrr... nope.. but I'm advised not to use white tape for the regulator

Simon, do you know why not to use white tape for regulator?
