    Hi Ba...

Looks like u've got a rose(bulb) tip anemone...I have one of that too...rather easy to maintain. Its not sand-based. If I am not mistaken...if given enuff amount of lighting....some of its tentacles will give a bulb like end/ tip.

Dun koe if ya "second anemone" that u r refering to is the branch octopus/ frogspawn? If so...its a hard coral.

Ps* Where did u buy ya rose anemone from? And how much?

    Tks

    thks L/o

the second i know not anemone, dunno wat it is(oh! frogspawn)- it has a hard skeleton(also accepts very small pieces of shrimp weekly, but dun like brine shrimp),
i meant i have 2 of the bulb kind.
its grown by 20% since i got it abt 2mths back. Its under FL lighting so it must be the feeding(i feed every other day-quarter piece small prawn)if i see them in the open, otherwise they just squeeze in a crevice & i dun feed.
anemone got a one way stomach so daily feeding would be no use or good for its health(calculating food travel length, digestion & excretion-48 to 50hrs is wat i'm trying to one of them)but 1 or 2 times a week is just the same(which i'm doing to the other wif results of slower growth).

i got them wif a whole bunch of other stuff from someone....considered free if u count other stuff.
but all the stock originated from pac marine.
their prices start from $5 for a local anemone,up to $8,$15,$20++ for others.i think should be $8 for a small one.

brandon, the anemone is Entacmaea Quadricolor; aka bulb, bubble-tip or rose anemone..it is one of the most hardiest anemone in the trade...[] very nice anemone u have there.. looks like it had grown well in your care since i last seen it.. keep it up..[]

clownfish, i know anemones need good lighting & that's why i haven't really tried wif good results until now-but water quality had a huge part to play, parameters a little off & they shrink & u never see them open again.
My skimmer only gets foam abt twice every 3weeks but it still runs 24/7.-cause of that i changed to a smaller sized one.
maybe cause I lowered my livestock nos.

i'm only using FL but i increased acitinic blue to 2 tubes after reading that this is what makes most corals tick-if u haven't got MH.According to saltwateraquariums.com Actinic blue is a must if u have lighting below 10,000k or using FL-
    the other 2 tubes i use,1 x 9500k & 1 x 7500k(all 4 run 12hrs a day min & a single actinic may go up to 15hrs).
to keep anythin well(like sea mats)i have to position it abt 2-6" below surface, that's the disadvantage of not enough light power.

thks kelvin(buld, rose, bubble tip all the same huh!),i'm going up KL then going reservist so its gonna starve a little.....oh.that reminds me gotta go buy a light timer!.

will arrange for the trigger when i come back k-if u have space.

pm me ur e-mail, i'll send the pigeon Discus pic,see if u want.
    2pcs(both females)7cm each.

eerr...my frogspawn, one branch stood up & walked away from its skeleton branches(didn't know any coral can do that?)-its now at the other end of the tnk(shaded)-moving ard every 2 days(just the head). the other branch is still in its place under direct light.

    HEy bawater...

Very funny yah frogspawn....now if only mine could do the same....

Read an article that that is how frogspawn can be propogated....but did not recall them swimming or moving ard though

Sometimes when i m too ruff wif it...it drops a tenticle or 2....which will disappear (most prob rot off)...the next day...no harm done to the parent coral though.

    Have fun @ reservist...
