    Hello Folks :
Sorry to interrupt this thread, but I have questions regarding the ember tetras.. I had these little guys for more than 3 months now. I got mine with disease developing as bloating and popped eye, the color also fades from clear bright orange to dull and opaque. Does anyone had this experience before with the ember tetras?

Thanks to you all, I enjoy reading the threads and learn from your experiences

    regards,
    nick

Yup. I did. Once in a while, I will have 1 of the bunch suffering from the bloated and pop eye. And then, the fella disappears into the forest of nanas.

I guess bloated and pop eyes are due to internal bacteria infection, medication treating these problems might be useful.

    Hi Nickah,
Check to see if there are other symtoms, if its only popped eye, check your nitrite or nitrate levels. If there are other lesions or distorted body shapes then likely there is secondary infection.
I've a batch of 20,which have been with me for 2 years now and doing fine. I find good water parameters is essential, they bred last year and are still in great shape.
Something about the water & the fishes that calms me down.
