If the apisto is in a tank with ADA soil, the colouration will be better.

    female candidi

Pic of the female.. Sorry for the poor picture..
Read from a book that the female will start rocking downwards if it is ready for breeding.. Anyone can verify this? Notice that my female is rocking but male is still too aggressive.

The "waving" motion is a signature of Taeniacara Candidi. I am sure you have seen the male especially doing it. Very interesting fishes!

Really? I've seen my male diplo, moving like a snake in slow motion.

Not that, this snake like motion is common to all apistos. My apistos all do that. Especially in the morning, you can sometimes catch them doing that.

Candidi's waving motion is only unique to themselves. Rocking back and forth like a hovering helicopter.

Yeah..very interesting..but surprisingly i never seen the male doing the rocking action instead the female is doing it all the time..
Haiz..same problem with everyone (lack of tank space..)
The pair is residing with my apisto bitaeniata spawn in a 1ft tank.

I have seen mine doing that motion too... Wonder what's the rationale for them to do that.

I was at first stunned when I saw the male doing it. Thought he was sick or something...
