Polyart also has a batch when I visited them yesterday...thought they look like Ap. cf. Pertensis
Hi for those interested i saw Apistogramma iniridae at Y618. If not wrong there were a few females. Decent quality. Price wise is quite ok.
Well i couldnt resist the urge, and bought a female. Took a photo of it. Problem is my SD card reader has some problem again. Will post the photo tonight.
Photos! Not too clear though.![]()

Oops. How to distinguish between the two?
wanted to buy it too..but too bad could not differentiate between male and female
I'm new to apistogrammas too and not really good either.
As a rough guide,I would thinkfor this fish females are those with shorter ventral fins and squarish anal fins, compared to longer ventral fins and sharper anal fins in males. Also they look a bit more yellowish. Sometimes hard to see in the shop aquarium.
Most likely Apistogramma pertensis.
Some pictures for reference.
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
Wow...you have a pertensis in 2006! Great looking one as well. The last picture is suppose to be Barcelos right?![]()
