Blue is normally for reef tanks, you should get either 6,500K (yellowish) or maximum, 10,000K (white) tubes.

Hi . I would like to check with all members here. I have this newly setup 1.5 feet shrimp tank. I have 2 light. One is white colour , the other blue in colour. Can anyone enlighten me, which is better since primarily i would like my plant (mostly java, spiky, taiwan moss) to grow well for my cherry shrimps.
Thanks in advance !
Sky

hi, grey fox
I read from the internet, it seems shrimp being invertebrates loves blue light, very confuse now...

Hi Grey fox, also i have read that blue colour has higher Kelvin value ( just like a hot iron rod, red-lower kevin, blue-higher kevin) . that being the basis, blue light has higher K, which is good isnt it ?
By the way, the light i have got is a dual tube PL Blue light.
Regards

Hi Skysky,
What you should get is a tube which is ranging from 6500-10000k, 12k lights are blue which are meant for reefs.

anyone tried those 4.2k light? reddish but the effect on red cherry shrimp is nice.....

But i think the plants would not look natural being projected by the reddish lights.
