Swee! Nice to see them back in town at a hobbyist collection. Hope you can learn more about their characteristics and observation.

Nice purchase!!!!!One species of Apistogramma that i'm always wanting to lay my hands on!!!
But from what i have know, this is 1 of the most challenging species of Apistogramma to spawn beside A.mendezi

That was what I read as well. Not an easy species to breed as well it seems. Bought only 1 pair? A pity that it is abit too red for my liking. The blue of the wild caught is somehow lost. But that's my personal preference.
This species was quite rare to come by in Singapore previously, often commanding a premium price tag. I remember benetay had to get a pair from Japan previously and it was hand carried back.
This piece looks slightly emanciated. Probably need a bit of fattening up. In any case, certainly a spunky looking specimen! Hope they breed for you.
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
Yeah.. I have been pumping this pair with bbs. It was rather skinny when i first got them. Thanks for the comment.
Agree with you that it is rather red.. There's only slight bluish tinge on the anal finnage. Would prefer it to be more yellowish as well.![]()
