I see an existing thread asking this same question (http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...ht=shrimp+farm) but it's been a few years so I'll try again. Is there anywhere in Singapore or neighboring Malaysia which produces the shrimp which are sold in stores here? If not, does anyone know where they come from?
I live in the US and keep several varieties of shrimp. There's a lot of conflicting information about the origins of several species, especially e.g. ninja shrimp or purple zebra shrimp -- both clearly have a complex life-cycle yet they appear to be available in mass quantities from someplace. I would love to track down some of these suppliers and see for myself what the process is like.
I considered just asking a shop-keeper for the phone # of their wholesaler, but down that road may lie a series of awkward not-in-English conversations. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
