i think glass shrimps are scavanger.. they dont eat much algae like th e yamato or malayan shrimps.. glass shrimps can get easily from any LFS.. $2 a pack got more than 20 over.. while yamato is abt one for $1..

glass shrimp are rather aggro when they're big
avoid getting the similar looking types with very big claws (macrobrachiam)
they'll tear up your tank
basically they scavenge for food
