Not sure if this is the right place to put this thread, but currently I have a 2 feet tank flooded with tonina and flame moss. So much so, that they are chocking up the tank, I also notice there is alot of brown debris settling everywhere. Does anyone know what it is?

    Equipment:
1 600l/hr internal filter with DIY rainbar
    1 55W PL light
    1 fan
1 1/2 yrs old ADA amazonia soil

    flora:
    tonina sp.
    Flame moss

    Fauna:

Weitzmani tetra (loss count, can't find them)
    4 dario dario
    2 koi mollies
50+ malayan, cherry, tiger, blue shrimps and some 'taiwan' shrimps from colourful aquarium.

    temp: 27 to 28 degreees
    ph: 5.5 to 6

I do have a problem with green hair algae, but it is under control, what is the main problem is all this debris. Also I feed only live daphnias, as my weitzmani tetras and dario dario are fussy eaters.

The brown debris is the ADA soil.
Something or someone has kicked up the broken down soil. And your filter is not cleaning them up fast enough.

Try changing your internal filter's wool. Stuff it full of wool for awhile so that the debris will not be expelled by the filter again.

It helped in my pleco tank after I change the filter wool.

OK, I will do so tomorrow. Funny thing is that I change the filter from a OHF to an internal, should have been better, but anyway I will try your method first, thanks.
