Possibly, the webmaster forgot to renew the domain ownership and the domain name was bought over by one of those domain grabber companies.

I just went to petfrd.com and it wasn't there anymore.. what happened?
EDIT By Vinz: informational thread at Killies.com.
EDIT Again by Vinz: PetFrd.com is back. Thread will be closed and unstucked.

Was in their website just 2 days back... i guess they did not renew their domain name?

i've been to petfrd forum yesterday.. hope that they'll be back soon.
"Tandas Berkualiti, Hidup Berkualiti"

Wow... wouldn't they have to pay quite a bit to the domain-grabber company? Since petfrd has quite a store of information in its forums.

Let's hope the webmaster backed up the forum before they lost the domain. Else they will also lose the information.
Vincent, that's what we're all speculating but at this point, it's anyone guess.
There will be many Petfrd'ers groping around in the dark and possibly searching through other aquatic forums for clues, news and updates regarding domain renewal or redirected URL. The best thing we can do now is liaise with other aquatic sites for a sticky thread until Petfrd gets back on it's feet. (can the administrator or moderator allow this temporarily?)
I've yet to check up on Arofanatics.com for similar thread but if someone from here is a regular forumer there, perhaps they might want to cross-link it back to Petfrd thread at Killies.com or follow-up here. It doesn't matter really, more to spread the word, that's all. Hate to see it go down the gutter without a fight.
I'm back & keeping 'em fingers wet,
Ronnie Lee

the domain and the forum content are separate. the forum resides on a hosting service provider, while the domain itself is registered with icann.
so assuming the grabber doesn't return the address, he can just register something similar say petfrd.org and point the domain back to the forum server. that's it. then we publicise the new name.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Ronwill, John from AF had already done so.

Really hope to see petfrd.com back into its place.

Hope petfrd forum be back soon....

Any news or updates on Petfrd's revival?

I think it should take about a week. Just happened to another friend's site too. Petfrd have to pay to renew and it takes about 3 days for the payment to be sorted out and 2 days to get the site live again. So give about 6 days or so should be fine. Nothing to be concerned about.
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

It has totally changed, I think the admin forgot to pay for the url maintenance!![]()
Cheers,
Andrew

Petfrd is up and running again now... thanks for the concern...
If I have a dollar & you have a dollar & we swap, neither is better off. BUT if I have an idea & you have an idea & we swap we are both richer
