I think I am in need of some new MMs! Those stupid MUs are melting again. Used in the past 3 scapes, all 3 just melt. Still yet to understand why.

Anyone can tell me what caused the melt? The MMs are growing nicely.
Added a pinch of NO3 today. MUs are supposed to be NO3 lovers right?

Individual small stones tied with Xmas moss. Sort of prevent the soil from creeping on the sand.

Hi Vincent, thats a very nice setup. Mind letting me know where you bought the driftwood? I have started a new tank recently for a new pair of apistogramma.

I got the wood from Biotope.
They were purchased over a period of time. Hope you can still find suitable ones as stock are limited at the shop.

    Update on the tank:
Well, as expected, the MUs are starting to turn into a horrible mash. And something got to be done about them. Will be scouting the shops for more HMs. So anyone spotted them, submersed + 4 leaves form, please let me know.

Nice setup vincent. Glad that you found a replacement with MH. I also had very little success with MU; CO2 seems to be the limiting factor.

It might be the case as the other plants are doing pretty well. The L.arcuata are sprouting new shoots. Will do the re-plantings tomorrow.

Remember to add some KH2PO4 since our tap has very little next to none. PC lights might be a tad to bright for a non-CO2 setup. T8-T12 FL lights are better since they carry less intensity.

Will do. I added KNO3 but not the KH2PO4. WIll add in both when I change part of the water after the replanting.

Looks like I need to change the lights. Can I still use PC lights but of lower wattage? Like 11W? Since now is 18W?

Unless you have a way of raising your current lights up higher, I would suggest you go with NO FL. Plants take time to respond to low CO2 while algae can respond rapidly with changing conditions. The only way you are going to limit them is through light and not nutrients. Do that...after a while when plants adapt, they will dominate and algae takes a backseat.
