I've just bought one 2nd hand Eden 501 filter.

When i tried it out just now, after 30 minutes i saw some white colour worm swimming here and there, i started to get worried now.

My question is now, since the Eden 501 is still working properly, in good condition what i mean, is it possible for me to change the filter and the small, white colour round things inside? The internal parts i mean.

If i were to get the inside things changed, and perhaps flush the hose(inlet and outlet hoses) with vinegar, do you think i can get rid of the white worms?

How much roughly will the filter and the round, white things cost? I am planning to make a trip down to clement C328 just to check that out, i am staying in east coast by the way.

    Thanks in advance.

You probably will not need to travel all the way down to C328. Just find your regular LFS and find any normal sponge and cut to shape and replace the blue sponge.

As for the white colour round things, they are ceremic rings, you can also get them from your good LFS in the neighbourhood.

SO Valice, does that means if i have changed the ceremic rings and the sponge, i can get rid of the white worms thingy? i really cannot stand them swimming inside my empty tank. I hate the fact that i wil have to sleep a night with them in my room.

What can be the way to get rid of them? Vinegar? can i pour a vinegar to the water, and let the water flow through the filter? (I know its kinda dump), Please help.

    Don't worry about the worms.
Once the fishes go into the tank, the worms will disappear.

I am having them right now in front of me as I am typing this reply to you.
