Hi, I have just intall this cannister filter- Eheim 2213 classic for my 3ft tank. The tank is place at the lower part of the iron rack. The tank height is about 22cm. I place my filter on the floor. I realise the flow is so weak. Is it due to not enough pressure ? Kindly assist. thanks

From eheim spec, it seems 2213 is enough for your tank but with a max delivery height of 1.5 m only.

Did you stuff too much filter media in the filter?

any external co2 impeller? UV light?
by the way, this filter with only 350 LPH.
not really strong from the sense of the flow rate.

I am using this for my 2 feet and flowrate is just nice. Might be too small for a 3 feeter.

If yours is a planted tank, it's definately too weak a flowrate. Try two times stronger.

It is set up for shrimp tank and some plants. I actually wanted to replace the existing filter SF 601. I realise that the flow rate is even weaker than my exisiting filter. The tank volume is about 60 litre. I replace 1 blue sponge with mechanical filter. Is that the reason that causing the weak flow ? Any way to improve the flow or I have stop using it. Thanks

I used the same cannister filter for my small pond setup before. I even place the filter on the edge of the pond (higher than the water level). I used a small internal pump connected to the inlet to increase the water pressure to the filter. I play around with the motor on pump and filter to get desired flow rate.

Best flow rate with both motor on pump and filter switched on.
Moderate flow rate with pump motor on only.
Low flow rate with filter motor switched on only.

Hope is provide you some options to your problem.

I used 2217 for 2ftx1ftx1.2ft tank, it also drive the external CO2 reactor and lots of plants. To me the flow is just nice, so I thing 2213 for 3ftx?x22cm is underpower. It is also shrimps tank.
