    dear all

i am thinking to get Resun CL280 for my 2 ft (40L) tank for my CRS. i am thinking to set temperature to about 25-26degree.

Is this chiller good enough for the job? any bro can share your experience. i heard from another forumer saying that the chiller will kick in every 20min for his 2 feeter. is this consider under power ? i am having mix feedback as mr chan from NA says that my tank actually can also use CL200 so CL280 is definitely more then adequate.

Also some say CL280 is quiet, some say noisy. please share experience

And what filter to match CL280?

    regards

    thanks

i am just kinda of worry the setting up, as Mr chan from NA told me i have to trial run the cannister and chiller for a least a few days peferably 1mth before actually using it in my shrimp tank...

yours in CRS tank right ? and your 2ft is 2x1x1 ?

Why would you need to run the system for a month before actually using it. What are you suppose to run in or tune before it is suitable for the tank ?

Maybe Mr Chan wanted to tell him to cycle the tank.

Skysky, may I know what Mr Chan meant by a trial run? What the measures we have to take into consideration before using it for a shrimp tank?

    Thanks

not to cycle the tank, but his concern is that during the manufacturing or packaging of the filter and chiller, some chemical or grease may be left in. and if we run the system directly on our tank...it can be toxic to the livestock in it. He specially highlighted this to me because my is shrimp tank and shrimp is extremely sensitive to water parameter.

His point is very logical and sound...just that i want to gather more info on how long do bro here take to trial run the system

    Lucky for me.

I got a new filter and a chiller and put it to use directly for my established tank.

So far (after 5 days) no major issue (keeping my fingers crossed).
    Didn't get that advise!!!

I run an Eheim 2028 and Teco TR10 on my two footer and would always suggest that you get the next model up in case you have desires for a larger tank in the future. In my case I have a few 2028’s so did not want to get a different type.

Here is a picture of the cramp, but tidy set up

Every chiller has its advantages, the Artica range has more precise threshold setting, but the Teco range one can vary the range from +/-0.5 from the desire point to +/- 1 or more. The narrower the threshold the more often it turns on, but the more stable the temperature. I have an Artica and it does well on my 4 footer, but the teco was half the price… the Artica is serviced every six months for the first 2 years if you buy it new

Some chillers suck air from front to back or from bottom to back. Others have more favorable tap options.
