Never create what you can't control
I guess not many aquarists here keep puffers because most of their tanks are planted, and larger puffers are not planted tank friendly. Also, some of them are brackish water as well, so they are not really suitable for planted tanks.
When I was in the infancy of keeping fishes and had little knowledge of them, I kept T. nigroviridis and T. biocellatus before. As expected, they didn't last long as they are kept in freshwater.
I am now keeping C. travancoricus in a species tank, six of them in a one feet cube.
