Decided to keep single species in my tank. 5 of them almost 4" big, doing pretty well in 28 to 30 degrees water.

I've always been fascinated by this species. But so far, no luck in keeping them alive.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

    Hi,

    Nice!
Is this your photo tank or are you keeping them in a bare tank? Just curious.

    It's a bare bottom tank.

These massive pointy-snouted fellows usually require heavy feedings of live foods. They seldom get accustomed to sinking flake or tablet foods. I never had any much luck with these pointy snouts, hence I don't buy these anymore.

    Nice specimens though.

I am blissfully ignorant of that, I do not feed live food or frozen. Purely pellets and they have to be quick to compete against plecos and eartheaters.
