    Hi,

    I am using the calculator from Chucks web page. My tank is about 250L and mixing with 100ml of water. Each ml will give me 1ppm.To get this amount I need 50 teaspoon of Magnesium Sulphate.

    50 teaspoon to just 100ml of water is a lot isn't it, is there any error?

    Would appreciate you advise.

    Cheers

    Try to mix the solution to dose for smaller amount of water like off-the-shelf ferts.

    E.g. 5 Teaspoons in 250ml of water will give you a solution that raises Mg by 1ppm for every 1ml in 10l.

    Your tank is 250l. Divide by 10l gives you 25. So 25 ml of the solution will raise the Mg in your tank by 1ppm.

    Jason, Vincent:
    Regarding the computations at Chuck's page on Calculating dosages ..., I figured that if you put "1 ml" as the amount of water to dissolve in, then it will recommend you the number of teaspoons to add.

    Using the recommended amount, you can dissolve in any larger amount of water before putting into tank.

    from mr gadd's page
    mgso4
    1 tsp = 5.4g
    1 tbsp = 16.2g

    and
    1g = 1000mg
    1ppm = 1mg/l

    should be quite straight foward to calculate
