This was after my previous 1 ft arrangement was scrapped. I've since done a rescape.
This time I've tried to use plants with 'more normal' shaped leaves (heart shaped) rather than the narrow grassy shapes of e.tennellus that I used to do. Of course not all plants in this tank fit this profile - because I like to salvage plants and don't like to throw them away.
The crypt.wentii tropica was bought to provide some form of contrast to the green of the anubias plants. I can't say I'm really pleased with the look, it reminds me of chinese preserved vegetables / kiam chye sometimes. Still it is a nice contrast.
The 'mini' java ferns were brought in from my other tank too. Hopefully they'll grow into better shape. I was influenced by the bird's nest ferns on rain trees along the East Coast Parkway, wanted to get a similar effect.
The glosso at the bottom would take about 2 months to form a lawn, hopefully they'll grow compact and nice and green.
Rocks are roadside granite.
Haven't decided what kind of fish to get. Any suggestions?

Very nice, but I think your current fauna has too many snails, you might want reduce the population by half, I actually had a problem of them dying because of lack of food. And it was certainly not that I did not add enough food, but my shrimps got the better of it before they did.
Hmm I will take that into mind. I feed them algae pellets...

It is 6 months later and the scape has become very green.
I've had numerous battles with staghorn algae, brush algae (still ongoing) and dead/ dying fish.
The green cherry shrimps have bred with the red cherries and I see both red and green baby shrimps.....
I'm not one to blame my camera, but my 3 yr old panasonic lumix doesn't do this justice. The colour cast is overly green!
once again a nice green scape! are the specs for this tank the same as the previous one?
lovely tank! pity the hardscape got overgrown by the plants such that only a small portion of one rock can be seen, and just barely. perhaps you could trim the glosso down so that the rest of your rockwork can be seen?

I use 22 watts of light, and I'm getting algae, so it's too bright. Unless I get an oto to scrape it off for me, I'm scraping algae off every 2 weeks.Originally Posted by marle

By the way many guppies died in this tank. Don't know why, but I can't seem to keep guppies alive. My sudadanio axelrodi also went missing one by one over 6 months, I sometimes can see their picked-clean skeletons. Good shrimps!

I think your fishes are too big for the tank, best you switch to something smaller like boraras.
Temporarily decommissioning all tanks...
I'm moving out of home and can't really bring these tanks with me.
It's been fun, I think I managed to get quite good skillz in managing nano tanks.
Look at these! So proud of it.
The next stage is probably 1.5 to 2 ft tanks....
More challenges await me, the challenges of married life! Ha!
beautiful tank bro.. nano at that size are harder to scape than a 1.5 - 2ft tank.. so im sure you can come out with another beautiful scape!
