Hi all, is it advisable to put "helicopters" in shrimp tanks? I mean would they mince up my shrimps/shrimplets? I'm all ears

No. They will leave your shrimps alone. But they do grow big. Some species grow up to 30 cm long. So they may not be so suitable when they are bashing around.

Get something else smaller. Otocinclus should be a good alternative.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

that is when they are young.. they do grew quite big and mine is 5-6inch inside my CRS tank.. it won't eat up shrimps and quite efficient in algae.. most of the time, it will just stick on my driftwood than on the glass and they don't come cheap either..

That's good. I'll transfer them out when they grow big then What's their growth rate like? price is not limiting factor, but anyway think it's good to know their price, so that I dun don't "over-pay". So how much did you get yours for?

Do a search on Sturisoma or whiptail. Example,

They eat just about anything they can find, but should be primarily herbivore. Remember, they grow quite large, so you will need a tank for it's size eventually.
