Have decided to go for a Iwagumi Layout for my new ADA 30-C Garden. I did consider doing up a full leafy ferns setup at first, but decided to settle for a Iwagumi layout cause i've never really tried doing it before, and it has always been on my mind to create a aquascape depicting time progression of moss on rocky cliffs/ mountains plus i could finally put proper use to my 2 Seiryu rocks.

As you can see from the photos, there is still alot of metal meshes that still can be seen, this is because the first batch of christmas moss that i tied on weren't doing very well so had to retie some few days ago. Now, most of the moss is starting to grow, so its basically the waiting game now.

    TANK SPECIFICATIONS

    Tank: ADA 30-C GARDEN (30cm x 30cm x 30cm)
    Substrate: ADA AquaSoil Amazonia 6L
    Lighting: 2 x 18w PL 8 hrs a day
    Water Temp: 25-26'c
    Co2: Pressurised, 1 B/s
Dosing: No Fert Dosing yet, only dose ADA Green Bactor and Green Gain.

No longer doing a Iwagumi Scape, Scroll down for more updates and new pictures

Looking at the pictures remind me of your earlier setup (with moss and mini pellia lawn) , and the ADA stuffs which u have too.
Like your new setup, can imagine how it looks like when matured. Again, can see that you have keep your stuffs neat and tidy.

How about a few shrimps ie:cherry shrimp or crs, can also imagine them like 'cows grazing grass on the hill'.

    Good effort, impressed!

Have always admire your work Corleone, seems like another good piece. How about 'blue eyes' or any of the Furcata sp? would go in line with zen scape.
Something about the water & the fishes that calms me down.

I like it, but I feel there's not enough of the rock showing. Feels like it's just going to grow out into a mound of moss.

P.S. This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.

Yeah, actually there is quite abit of rock showing just that there is green algae growing on it, any idea on how i can get rid of it other then brushing them cause it tends to stir up my scape when i use a toothbrush to brush the rocks.

As for it becoming a mould of moss..haha..expected..so gonna have to do alot of trimming for this tank in the future.

Anyway, did consider blue eyes but think gonna stick with rasboras..have a thing for them..

How about snails? I can't remember what they're called(some kind of nerite, I'm guessing), but I"ve noticed a number of shops bringing them in now. They're yellow with black stripes and have little protrusions sticking out of their shells. Just one of these guys will do wonders for a tank that size. I have 2 of them running around my 1.5ft tank and they've cleared up the algae on the woods.

Danger of having two nerites in your tank is the appearance of white head spots appearing on your leaves, tank and everywhere.

Btw, those are nerite eggs that cannot hatch in freshwater.

Just suddenly had a thought, maybe i might make this a CRS tank, maybe for SS grade shrimps, anybody care to elaborate things i might need to take note base on my tank specs to make it a CRS breeding tank?

Haven't been really into the CRS scene for a while, but have always been amazed on breeding them.

The tank is a little too small to keep these guys in my opinion, plus the seem to do better in tanks with strong currents from what I've read.

After much thought, i've decided to not carry on doing a Iwagumi scape, maybe its because my rocks are positioned too low, gives a very sparse look too it.

So i've done some minor rescaping and added a piece of driftwood in, and boy was i pleased with the overall look! at least now the fishes have something to swim through..

    Just love the new look..

Stuff in a few rosette of E.tenellus randomly among the moss stones to get it a more wild look?

I like your setup, especially with the addition of that nice piece of wood. Can't wait for it to be matured with fishes! Where do you get your light set?
