i think the puffer will go after the shrimps as well.
Best is you take out the snails when doing water changes with siphon. I normally siphon the snails out during water change and manage to keep the population in control

okie thanks PLee, everytime you WC for how many percent?

Used to get dwarf puffer for the snail population control in my 4ft shrimp tank, maybe due to size and vegetation the shrimps are rather safe. But probably lost some.
Else you can manually remove by hand whenever you spot them.

Best bet is remove them by hand. Puffer definitely will hunt the shrimps. And I've read somewhere that over population of snail is due to leftovers. So if you control feeding, the growth of snails will be under control. If the shrimps can finish all their food, then there will not be any leftovers for the snail.
God will make a way, where there seems to be no way

tried intrapet anti-snail to get rid of lake limpet
