Which is better combination - Cardinal with Rummy Nose or Black Neon tetras?

Have been searching previous posts and noticed that Cardinals/Black Neons are pretty "common" to be co-tenants.

I'm considering swapping the 6 Black Neons currently in the same 2ft tank with Rummy noses. Any suggestions if this is a good/bad idea?

Current 'displeasures' in existing tenants are:
    1. 14 Cardinals don't school, so cant see them as distinctly.. (read a 2003 post abt putting in a LouHan inside to "solve the problem" -hahaha)
    2. 6 Black Neons together with 3 (slightly larger) SAEs 'dominate' the tank's look as they reflect the light more...
    3. Species from #2 are more aggressive during feeding times.. so I worry if the Cardinals are getting enough...

So is it good/bad idea to change Black Neons to Rummy Noses, and if so, how many?
Also thinking to add some more shrimps (only have 2 now) to get more variety; including bottom feeding Corys. How many do I need? Will it be too crowded already...

Thanks, and Happy New Year to All!

If you want a schooling behaviour, i suggest adding a few plants into the tank. As for combinations, rummy noses compliment cardinals much better then any other tetras. And since you have shrimps in your tank, maybe you should stick to them. There are plenty of information on the net to tell you how much bioload your tank can hold. Good luck with your cardinals.

    Cheers,
