Do a search on google about the 3 options you're considering...
You should look at their flowrates and decide whether it is suitable for your tank. Flowrates are usually rated in litres per hour.

A suitable cannister filter should have one which can displace 2-3 times your total tank volume in 1 hour. If you need help calculating the volume of your tank, you can use the calculator provided by this forum which is accessible via the link at the top right corner.

hi bossteck, tx for your reply
the filters usually come with more than sufficient flowrates, eg 1000lph for the dolphin and 1200lph for the jebo
wat i'm really worried is the quality
all used for a yr plus so my concern is whether they can last any longer or not
one more question, cos these filters do not come with media of any sorts, how much issit to purchase average priced media?
    thanks alot!!

I've been very satisfied with using Eheim's. I know it is a touch more expensive. But in the long run, I am sure you will appreciate its durability and its quietness.

You should consider it. I am sure it is not much more expensive, especially in Singapore.

A classic 2213 should do the trick.

I asked a couple of shopladies and they all told me that a canister filter is too strong for a planted tank. they say that even if i insist on getting one which is highly discouraged, i should get the smallest one with the lowest flow rate.

however the atman that i'm abt to get is the largest one with over 1000lph flowrate.

Can anyone help me? should i go ahead and get the atman model even if it's too strong? or should i just continue using my internal filter (quite small) and continue with not-so-clean water?

By the way, my tank is a 2x1x1.5 ft tank

I recommend you to get an Eheim 2213 or 2222
second hand would suit your budget.
