On and off water will collect at the slot where the power cable exit, sometimes become major overflow. Very frustrating and inconsistent, I give up on the Pro2 and went back to the old series.

Exactly the same happened to mine... the "area" there got flooded with water.

But its alright now, after replace the connector, not sure what's it called.
    The quick release?
its that piece that links the rubber hose to the pump head.
    Anyways, so far so good.

Peterfoo, Yi Hu is at Qian Hu. Choa Chu Kang, they are the official distributor, so if it still under warranty, think they will check for you FOC.

Mine passed the warranty period already, but in the end I only paid for the replacement part.

Didn't know eheim can have so many problems!
Should have got a Fluval FX5 rather than the 2028.

Mine leak too today. Flooded my house twice. Brought it to Petmart and Benjamin replaced the rubber O rings on the adaptor. Tested on the spot and seems ok. Have not fix back to my tank yet. I have another Fluval at home but have not used it yet. Got it when I bought my tank and it came with it. Have to say Petmart service is tip top.

It's not just "Step1: Add Water, Step2: Add Fish" If everything else don't work, add plastic plants and fish

my impeller shaft broken. Hunting around desparately too before an idea striked me. I called up the lfs that i bought the Nisso tank that came with the fluval and asked them to place order thru their agent. Got it in less than a week, about 2 or 3 days.

Every brand, well know or not has got its problems. Sometime not user-friendly.

Managed to get online today after the server update, what happen i don't know. Always get 404 not found.....

Anyway I have the big O ring and the inlet/outlet unit changed at Petmart, he also advise me not to wash the O ring often. The inlet/oulet unit rubbers within also give problems - kind of stiff and unable to twist the control.
But after the change, it is running fine now for about 2+ months. Ehiem is a reputated brand and of course it is also x. I think change of spare parts is still practical.

As far as I know, many O-rings need to be lube to be effective (water proof).... but I do not know if it applies only to diving stuff such as camera housing, diving torch... neither do I know of any O-ring lubes are are aqaurium safe.

I saw Benjamin of Petmart apply something onto the Oring before installing it. That could be lube.

    Hi Jaws,
I do not know if you have anything (such as CO2 reactors, chillers etc) connect in between the callister filter. Check your "out" tube for choke, and connect without any other equipments in between.
You would be surprise that the slightest blockage in output will cause the filter to leak.

    Hi bro Billy,

They found a hairline crack on the adaptor which has since been replaced and now its fine. Mine is a low tech tank(for now) so no CO2 reactors, chillers etc. Thanks for the info anyway. Everyone should look out for this in future...

wow... and I thought I am the only one having this problem. I am running 2 Ehiem Pro II canaister.

One of the canister constantly have air bubbles in it ... if it due to a leak that why air bubbles starts building up in the canister?

What makes u think bubbles in it when it's hardly noticable. I think maybe the tube are loose and air are caught into the canister. Like many had said, shake the canister about and the air maybe escape.
