All lotus leaves gone!!!

Used to have many leaves for my red tiger lotus. But now, all seem to rot away. What could be the problem? Thinking that it might be cause by deficiency in fertilizer; I just added the Jacno's stick fertilizer...but, it doesn't seem to help. Now, my green lotus also seem to have the same fate. I like these two plant very much. Please advise if possible. Thanks.

the rhizome might be rotting
take it out and smell it
if it's terrible, chances are it's gone
you can try cutting the rotted parts off and replanting the rest, but odds are not in your favour

if it's just doing badly, replant it with the jaqno fert sticks
those are very good
just be patient

I found some problem with my CO2 solenoid today. That is why my long term CO2 indicator always show yellow. I am suspecting the water is too acidic all this while. I guess this may be the cause of the rotting/melting leaves of the lotus. Again, I maybe wrong, but one thing for sure, I got to get the solenoid replaced. Any recommendation place to get it done? Thanks.

You prolly can get a replacement from FESTO. They actually specialises in pneumatic products. Best bring along the sample to get the correct part.

Mine melted away and no grow after that. It has been a week already and no sign of growing...hummm...will it grow again? Maybe I will up root today and check the conditions as you suggested. Thanks.

Last week, have taken out the rhizome from the substrate and found that the conidtion is still OK. Replanted it with rhizome slightly out of the substrate. It has been a week or so but the rhizome portion above the substrate seem to rot a little. Humm...wait a few days and see if it is grow any leaves. If not will shift the rhizome to the strong light area. Come to worse, may want to cut away the rotting portion and replant. Maybe put it under very strong light may help. I know getting a new plant can be easiler but just an expriment to see I can save it. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Note: I think initially, I have planted the rhizome too deep into the substrate and thus encounter this problem. Next time have to take care not to plant it too deep.[]

It had been few week already but still no sign of growth. I think can forget about the plant liao. [] Will check the rhizome (hope still left some) this weekends if possible. I think one suggestion by Teo is that have to cut the leaves when they before reaches the surface of the water. Maybe this will help to stimula new leaves growth. Well, anyone planted this lotus and do not have the mysterious melting leaves problem? Please advise. Thanks.

Hmmm... wanna take a risk? I have a hunch.

Take the rhizome out of the water for a week or two, then replant. Don't soak it in water, but don't let it dry up completely. Kinda simulating a dry season... don't know if it'll work.

red tiger lotus is a pretty ok plant
the problem i found was the rotting rhizome
any rot WILL spread
so cut as much off as you can
i lost the big ones from teo from this while the weak ones grew very well instead

I have 2 in my tank. They were melting last week. It was probably due to I did not keep up with the fertilisations.

This week I up the fertisation and it has just sprouted new leaves.
