IMO, You should remove the bridge, but if you are going to keep it, you need to add alot more stem plants like in a dutch layout. You have too many species and too few of them in the foreground. I generally dislike the idea of ornaments in tanks because it is hard to complement them together with plants, but not impossible. Try looking for up designs from Taiwan, that would give you an idea what I am referring to.

    Hi Jungle-mania,
Thank you for taking the time to advise me and I appreciate your comments very much - i'll go and take a look at the Taiwan designs. will aim to do better. my intention is to have those 3 small plants at the front propagate themselves. my plants tend to "overgrow" after a while and often i had to prune them.

Actually, the bridge is of an interesting design. I do know of folks who use this bride to tie moss. The grooves on the bridge is good to secure the clear fishing lines, from end to end. And when the moss grows out, it looks great as it's not flat.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

    Hello Benny,
Sorry for misleading all of you. The bridge is actually a retaining wall. I got tired of it and so turned it on its side and it became a bridge. And yes, it does look like a log bridge and there's some taiwan moss growing at the left end.

The "plasticky" bridge is actually ceramic and is not a bridge at all but a retaining wall, which I am now doubling as a bridge. And it was bought from Seaview in Jalan Kayu.
