    what's the difference between PL and FL lighting and which is better overall? =)

    PL is the one that look like 'U'. It has higher watt than FL, in ther word it is more compact. For example in the market LFS sell FL with 15W/18W and PL with 36W/55W. If I'm not mistaken, there is a sticky thread on this.

    both are florescent lights. pl is more compact for any given wattage.

    thanks for the info =) i'm looking for a suitable light for a low tech 1 ft cube so was wondering what the difference was =) think i'll need to get a PL right, as no FLs are so short?

    ever thought of using quick start screw on type bulb. I just did a diy on that. Check my pics in the gallery or you can find it under the thread, - diy light - a new discovery in equitment. Cheers! .
