Err... I used an external site...
My gallery is STILL maxed out...![]()
Yah... The tummy is a little sunken... Might be parasite from the tubifex worms?
Are they seasonal? Think the last time I saw them was the AQ outing in Dec 05... Haven't seen them since...

yah the model don't look good, but the sharpness is therecan take O Levels liao. but there is a strong yellow cast.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.
hexazona · crumenatum · Galleria Botanica
Maybe I over tuned the green cast... There was a green cast... Probably removed too much... Now become yellow...
Oh, saw the fish at C328...

maybe I haven't been searching for them purposedfully, but think that was the last time I did see them...
Anyway, that was my first outing with the AQ people... So memory of that trip somehow stays in the head more than the others...

Sadly this is one species that is usually overlooked. Healthy males are stunning, unlike the one in the image, which seems a little malnourished perhaps. The farms and LFS here do not sell the females, which lack the red tips to the caudal fin and the reddish nose. You will usually only find females in the store, hence the reason why very few people ever get to breed them.
These fishes will do a barrel-roll type of movement before they deposit eggs on the undersides of leaves, like what the harlequin rasboras do.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
