    Hi folks,

Want to ask if you would prefer all glosso or tenellus for a 6ft x 2ft x 2ft aquascape with granite stones....?

Basic concept is carpet/lawn with stones

    HC would be nice.

It'll be back-breaking to plant HC for a 6 footer

Can always try this method. Tie clumps of HC to metal mesh and just lay them down on the substrate. I've had success growing HC with that method.

    1. Separate out the HC into smaller, more manageable clumps.
    2. Spread clumps out evenly on the mesh.
    3. Use a stretchy plastic to cover and hold down the HC clumps.
    4. Secure this plastic mesh down to the metal mesh with nylon thread.
    5. Place and gently press down on the substrate.

HC can be difficult for some, IMO Glosso is easier and looks great in a 6ft Iwagumi scape.

Thanks Ken, I've decided to go with glosso and a bit of hairgrass....

I do need to take note of CO2 and the fertilising regime yea?

Yes, and good lights as well, that will keep the glosso low. Looking forward to the scape... Do post a journal of the layout.
    Cheers!

    Is that enough? Hmm..

Tennellus, if you maintain it well, can be great. Like some sort of New Zealand pasture.

    I vote Tennellus =x

I would go for the glasso. Seen in one of aquascape magazine - though glosso is a weed and it propagates fast. It creeps over the wood or rocks till its totally covered. Really quite appealing to me, as it then look like some mountain scape.

I'll be going for glosso for my new scape...

This should be fun, imagine all 6ft long of glosso and rocks. Strong lights and CO2 and ADA soil would do wonderful Iwagumi.

For such little plant mass in a huge water volume, what can be done to prevent or reduce chances of algae breakout?

    Same light duration, lower intensity.
Or you can just plant like a mad man from the start.
