I wanted to add some angelfish into the tank.
May I know how many can I add them into my 1FT Cube tank?
I tot of getting 5? Is it too much? Will it cause overcrowding?

Hello everyone, this is my first my setting up a planted tank. Therefore, i tried out a 1FT cube tank for my first time as shown above in the picture. I did not put any CO2. All i did was on the light for more than 10 hours. My tank started about 2months ago, 10% of WC per week.
Hope some pros out there can guide me and give some comments along my learning journey for the 1FT Cube tank!
Thanks,
Cheers,

Small tanks are more challenging because of the small water volume.
Angel fish is rather large for a 1feet tank. 1 will be too many, let alone 5. Even if you buy the smallest baby angel, they will still outgrow the tank in no time.
Maybe you can consider small fish like cardinals tetras or rasboras. IMO, I find them more appropriate for your tank.

I agree with CK Yeo. Small fish like tetra would be more suitable. There are quite a number of varieties of small fishes. Just visit your friendly LFS.![]()

Thanks CK and Kietgnoel.
I was lack of experience therefore i started off with a 1FT cube tank. I also wanted to like you guys out there creating a wonderful and awesome tank! I will get some cardinals tetras in LFS, How many do you think i should get?
=)

20 cardinals will do just fine! Maybe 30

I stick to 10 pieces, I have about 20 pieces in my 2 by 2 footer and they seem to take up the entire tank.

Hmmm i agreed! 30 abit too much for my tank. I think i will stick to 15 pieces. Because some will die off after sometime..![]()

why so ? cardinal is quite hardy

I would suggest this mantra, especially for newbies: Less is more.
I would also point you to this so that your fishkeeping experience would be more successful.
The right way to buy fish

Personally, I think for a one footer, you have many choices of fishes to buy, but it is in your best interest to stick to one species for one tank.

You could provide more details like filtration, light wattage, fertilizer dosing, flora, fauna, etc. With those information, we could easily help you out with your tank.
