Hi, I just got my first glass tank today delivered today. Noticed that the black silicon stain is all over the glass surfaces.

How should I get rid of this? By using a blade to scrape it? Not too sure if this is common... or it is just my tank maker is lousy. Please help. Thanks.
    Cheers,
    U.K.Lau

Just use a blade and scrape it off. Your tank maker was sloppy, but it's not a big issue.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

    Slightly off-topic.

Lau, I would advice you to let the tank stand for a few more days before filling it. Give the silicon a few more days to be fully cured.

Tanks take up space in the workshop, I won't be surprise if tank makers (esp the sloppy ones) are in a hurry to push them out to the customers' home to free up space in their workshops.

A few days of patience could literally add a few more years to your tank.

Thanks for this great tip, Bossteck .

I'm not in a hurry since my DIY lighting is not ready yet.

I used those razor blade for shaving, some crocodile brand if i'm not wrong
Just slide the blade at a certain degree across the silicon marks and it comes off easily.

But be careful, the blade are damm sharp!

I rub off the silicon residue. Easy to come off if not too big.
    I'm back!
