Hi everyone I am new and was just wondering if I had enough light for my planted aquarium. It is a 29 gal. tall and I am using a diy co2 (sugar/yeast). I have 4 40 watt bulbs, I got the bulbs from my lfs that said "full spectrum light for plants". thanks

    Hi there,

Please indicate the unit of the tank dimension.

As per forum's pro advised that 2 watts per US Gallon for low light plants, 3 watts or more for plants that demand light.

And, there is a calculator on top for you to calculate the light required for your tanks.

    Cheers,

    kzi

    76cm X 30 X 48 cm with 29 gallons
and you have 160 watts of light.
You have PLENTY of light. Maybe TOO much.
I think you would have high light! 5.5 watts per gallon. I hope it is heavy planted with good ferts and CO2.

On 1 50 gallon tank I run less light than that most of the time.
My 61cm X 41cm by 45cm (28 Gallon) tank I will be running around 80 watts (just under watts per gallon)

How is you tank doing by the way?
