With high light intensity, adding CO2 would be better. DIY CO2 also can work.
Did I correctly remember someone comment your tank got land plants and not suitable for aquarium? Are those the ones rotting?

Do u have base fert? saw that you have red plants could be lack of nutrients like what Simon had said, they need CO2 .
    Cheers!

Lower your lights until you get your CO2 up. You can switch one of your 36W lights off. Too high light speeds up the metabolism and your plants aren't getting enuf Carbon.

Alternatively, you can add other carbon source like Flourish Excel.

or... you can boost up your KH a bit. Some plants can make use of HCO3- as a carbon source.

Dose flourish excel according to the instruction should be ok... as long as there is no shrimps in your tank.

In my experience, fishes has not problem with it. But it wiped my shrimps out.

I think you can get it from places like petmart, aquamart,...

Excel must be dosed according to the instructions. Read that overdosage can lead to algae bloom. This caution was stressed by one of Seachem's top guys in a some forum which I can't remember.

Weren't you using DIY CO2 sometime back? Why don't you revert back to that?

Test your Nitrate levels as well, you should be maintaining about 5 to 10 ppm. Which liquid fert are you using?
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

... I think they claimed that Excel cannot be utilised by algae.

    Maybe bacteria bloom?

But I think someone feedback about cloudy water from overdosing. Personally, I have never encountered that problem.

I can't find the article where I read about the algae from overdose.

Reading back what I wrote... I think I was somewhat misleading. The algae bloom posting was by someone else, not seachem. The guy from Seachem, Greg Morin, their head of research, stressed not to overdose, but said nothing of algae bloom. Anyway, the 'don't overdose' warning is on the label.
