Pretty!!! I do like these little fellows and it's a bit of a shame that there isn't too many folks keeping these African Dwarf Cichlids these days. I suppose finding a good source is a problem.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

There were 2 farms in Lim Chu Kang specialising in breeding them. But I can't be sure which species. Perhaps we can go check them out sometime in the near future.

Did you get yours from local breeders?

These fishes were popular for a while, but as the local demand dwindles, the farms just deals directly with the export trade. Hence, it a lot more difficult to seem them in the shops these days.

    Hey Eman,

Hi five I'm amature too. Point, shoot and delete until an acceptable photo appears. By the way, are you intending to breed them? I've read that the spawn can be raise with parent pair. For me don't think will tune the water parameters to induce spawning but gonna setup a simple planted tank for them. Think the greeneries will offer lots of colour contrast.

Hahas...I'm adding in Sera peat into the tank to lower the ph to about 5 or below if possible....It will be a different experience breeding and raising the brood than with apistos....I haven't got the chance to see the whole process with this beautiful fish so i'll like to try breed them

    Nice fishes....
Especially if the picture is taken with fries where you will see the usual behaviour of both male & female fishes guiding the fries along....
Hope to hear from your breeding soon

Ok thanks. I was thinking something like Boraras maculatas. Do you something so small will be eaten up?
