Something happened. Female is always on top of her cave and the male is watching her at a distance of about 8cm away. This has been going on for two days. Not sure if it's a sign of spawning. And female used to have quite bloated stomach but now became quite slim.

Anyone breed West African cichlids before? Can share your thoughts? Thanks.

My female has been chased by the male after I came back from KL.....but she's in intense color and shaking in front of the male.....looks like she has lost her 1st brood i think....perhaps i should do a water change.

During Breeding times, such small fishes will most probably be killed....

Can Dehane be housed in a mostly crypt planted tank? Will they pull or eat the plants?

I don't see a problem of having this species of fish in a planted tank, they will be happy to be in such an environment...no worries wilson

Today saw a few fries. But I think their survival wouldn't be long cause they are housed with my apistos.
