    I recently introduce a Royal Pleaco into my planted tank to take care of some algae issue. The Royal Pleco was highly recommended by the owner of a LFS.

    Now after a month or so, I find my leafy plants with big holes. I'll try to post a picture to you show you guys.

    Actually, Royal Plecos belong to the Panaque species. They are wood and plant eaters more than algae eater. They can also grow up to 45 cm, over a long period of time.

    If you don't remove this fish from your planted tank, you will soon not have any plants left. Best to subsitute it for some otocinclus, Siamese Algae Eaters, Whiptail catfish and yamato shrimps.

    Why down the drain? Royal plecos are one of the most popular plecos being kept by aquarists. You can always go for a pleco themed tank.

    I think I am near there ok....Is pretty bad shape..Don't know what to do with the pleco now...

    Yeah..They are nice..but they also eat my plant....
