    Hey henree,

Just make sure you siphon out the BGA. This will make the blackout more effective.

1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons per dose should be fine for your tank's size.

I agreed with moderator, that to make black-out effective remove as much BGA as possible. Maybe stretch it to 5 days.

hi .. i had the same algae problem in a smaller tank.. 70L / i got myself a couple of cherry red shrimp ..... they are tiny and may not be compatable with the Discus ( not sure on that) but these guys cleaned all the algae from my tank in a week or so....

they shared the tank with a couple of guppies and 15-20 cardinal tetras.....

    Ziggy909,

Yup, cherries/yamatoes can effectively clear up black-brush/hair algae, however henree has managed to settle the above mentioned, he's now facing a Blue-green algae (cynobacteria) that no algae cleaner can clean up.

Yup its not a true algae.

As mentioned, its a cynobacteria, loosely known as "slime algae".
