hi guys, i just bought 1 piece of apisto(i think) from y934 yesterday.
the reason i bought it because i want it to act as a predator in my tank for my cardinal to school well..
here is the pic of the apisto

    few questions i got:
    1) will the orange/red colour on the caudel fin be more intense?
    2) saw lots of apisto having same colour on the dorsal fin with the caudel fin. but mine don't really have any colour on the dorsal fin.. will it start to have colour after the fish is stabled?
    3) issit a male or female?
    4) do apisto have grading too? if yes, is mine a lousy piece?
    5) what apisto issit?(e.g. Caca,Inca)
    thanks..

    It is a A.cacatuoides.
Unlike CRS, there is no grading. You probably didn't pay alot of the fish based on the colouration of the finnages.

yup.. i don't really mind the colouration and finnage.. anyway.. i bought it for only a green note =)
just curious, will the colouration become more intense after it is stable? or will it stay forever like this?
    thanks

what's the exact size of the fish? from what i've heard, it's unlikely that the colour will intensify except through the use of colour enhancers. finnage wise, if it's a young fish (maybe about 1-1.5inch in size) it'll develep, though to what extent i can't say...

you get what you pay for i guess =)

He won't become a "predator" in your tank of cardinals. Infact, they make good thank mates...minding each other's business in the tank.

They will become predators if your tank is full of shrimps. One of their favourite food. Oscars, large angel fishes make better predators.

Once the Ap. cacatuoides are adult sizes (around 8-9cm), they will attack the shrimps.

10mths? Not too sure...the bigger your tank, the faster they grow.
