main difference is size and penetration
and yes both can be used

my suggestion for you is to use the search function to find and readup
lights info on t5 and pl etc is easily found
think its much more helpful and informative for you to search and read up

    oo.

    okay. thanks veteran.

i've read up. but i cant tell the main difference..

t5 is better cause it brighter and needs less "power". i think i've more or less made up my decision..

i would say it depends on what kind of setup you are using and what plants you are going to keep
then select the light to suit the setup will be a better option
    theres also cost to consider

    cheers~!

most definitely T5 if you are having a planted tank. Especially the type of plants that require high light penetration. PL will suffice if you are just going with hardy plants ie java fern, anubias, etc

but do bear in mind that the price range is very different between T5 and PL.
