Thinking of bring a few kgs of Shirakura soil back to singapore this weekend but don't know how good it is. Anyone tried Shirakura soil? How good is it as compared to ADA Amazonia or Amazonia II in terms of nutrients, stability, etc? All I know is it doesnt cloud the water and cost double of ADA Amazonia in HK.
    Cheers,

Never heard of it. I have 2 cube tanks with ADA AS and the clouding lasted only at most a week for both tanks, and my water is crystal clear now. IMHO ADA AS is a very good product already. Unless it does twice better than ADA AS, I would not even think twice about investing twice as much for another product.

To compare, I have to set up 3 tanks here in HK.. 1 Shirakura, 1 ADA Amazonia and 1 ADA Amazonia II. I thought can go by short cut by asking here..

Hi Chee Wei, why don't you check with the folks at AquaticStore in Tung Choi?
He should be able to give you some information.

    Hi Yorky,

Which one is Aquaticstore? I usually remember the location but never check the names. So far 2 LFSs there told me it is much better in terms of stability, nutrients and wont turn to mud as fast as ADA. I don't know how true it is because they are the sellers. I am very reluctant to set up any fish tank here in HK because I don't know how long I am going to be here. Everytime I see the price of ADA products here, I feel very tempted.
    Cheers,
    Chee Wei

    Hi cwtan12,
I can't write the chinese name.. but its "Shui Chao Dian" or translated as Aquatic Plant Store.
He doesn't sell the accessories so you might get frank opinions from him.
