Help with "skittish" rams

Hi there,

all of my Rams have been "skittish" or "scared" ever since i move them to a new tank. Now always hide corner...and colouration gone.

I have tried putting 4 cardinial tetras as diter fish, hoping to boost their confidence. It have been 24 hours, instead, now even the tetras also become "skittish".

Any advise how i can bring out their confidence once more?

give them some time...they're in a new environment it takes a day or 2 for them to settle down

Show us a picture of the tank and it's surroundings and we can give you better advice.

Give them some place to hide,behind rocks or plants,they should be fine in 1,2 days time.

3 rams + 4 cardinial + 2 otos in a 2x1.5x1.5 ft tank.

currently tank is clear and bare with 2 bunches of java fern as hiding place only. Its now in my study room with very low human traffic.

when i first bought it home (old tank with gravel, sides covered, java fern), the very next day a pair was formed and female spotted with breeding tube, but eggs gone the following day.

i am pretty much against putting gravel etc now.

Put as many hidding place for them as possible, once they settle down they will come out of the hiding place to get food at the open space. Mine is cover with nanas and pebbles. They hide for a day and start to swim around to look for food at the open area. It is good to mix with fishes that will swim around to boost their confident that it is safe for them to swim around.

The bare tank is the cause of their skittish-ness. Add gravel too along with more plants.
