Well i guess nothing is forever, i bought some HC from a fellow hobbiest and it had some sort of algae that bloomed in a big way. almost wiped out every thing in the tank. sound have taken pics of it but at the time all i wanted was to get rid of it well it's been 3 months and i Finlay have the upper hand. so it would seem that hospital tanks for plants is my next step I'll never add anything to the tank with out a quarantine.I'd add some pics to this as to where the tank is now but i don't seem to have a pic reducer that works with this site. anyone have a link for a program to shrink the photos?

Waaaahhh, what a nice setup " paludarium habitats the cool garden"which is half land and half water. It is very impressive and very properly arranged, I wonder if is hard to maintain the tank (the growth of plants, filtration, sunlight and the waterfall)etc. Once again good work and keep it up.

Lovely paludarium set-up you have there! Great job. It must be quite a challenge when is comes to plant maintenance.

Pictures to go with update: I have decided that since i placed 148 in the ADA competition for 2007 with no ferts and little effort. I thought I'd join the band wagon and add high light being 2-Watt ADA green Metal halides as you can see they are green in color maybe a tad to much for my set up the Tank section is very contrasting to the waterfall. it may just be me and what i was use to so I'll give it a couple weeks and see from there. So i am going to try EI dosing and High light and see where it leads to. I had a small nightmare getting my new lights and several plants have not faired so well without much light for 2 weeks. the tank is now two weeks old. but only 12 hours with the new lights The quartz halogen i was using did have a draw back the switch couldn't take the heat for 8 hours day after day. though the fixtures were only 42 dollars for 150 watt it became a pain having to re-wire new lights to fit into the set up.The more i look at the pictures the more I'm sure I'll be getting 5,200,6500 or 10,000 k bulbs to better blend with the waterfall. constructive criticisms welcomed

The ADA Green 8000k have been replaced with ADA standard 8000k MH and one 35 watt glow t5 5700k floresant. a far better match in color to the Quarts halogen above the water level for the falls heres the latest pic of how the new set up is coming along.
