Not bad, given that no CO2 added, no filtration etc, in fact is nice.

Have you done any maintainence so far, like replacing partial water and dosing minimum ferts? The faunas have been kept for how long already?

Thx Marle, yes theres no CO2 and filtration. Just once in a while added Excel for like a drop that can last for a week or 2.

Richietay, Maintenance yes. At first the tank have two types of plants. Glosso for the foreground and HG for the back. WC once a week about one glass and dosing fert maybe like 2 week once for only one drop.

The fauna: one of the boraras have been here since the 2nd week after the tank is set up. And i just got 4 more like last week. The shrimp have been there for almost a month.

    Hi Nevada

    Nice tank and setup.

Didn't know that HG can grow well without CO2. I will like to try some on my shrimp tank soon. I understand that once you started dosing excel, you have to continue doing it or it will attract BBA. Is this true? Lastly, what type of lights are you using and number of watts?

Thank you and have a ncie day.

The light looks more like a table lamp with halogen bulb. Please correct me if I am wrong?

Thank you Riccia, I guess for big tank yes it will attract BBA. But i'm not sure about small tank. So far theres no problem with BBA. THe only problem i ever get is Green Water.

And for light, yes it is a table halogen light. I think it is about 15 - 20W. i forgot. But i got the light from IKEA and so is the tank ...

i had a small mini tank without CO2 and filter. one month later BBA attack due to bad water flow i guess. Another mini tank , (about the size of yours), same water source, same without CO2 and filter...but dont have any BBA at all..
By the way i was inspired by your setup Nevada but couldnt find the same vessel. It was kinda fun actually to setup a super low maintainance tank. only thing is , have to faithfully do 30% water change every 3 days.

I will try to see if I can find the same tank @ Ikea this weekend. Is that ADA that you are using as the substrate?

    Nevada,

Can you fishes n shrimps survive without air pump? I am wondering for such a small setup will there be enough air flow and oxygen for the living things inside.
