Ah..Solite Type 3, there's a difference.

The one that yappeyap has now is the Type3 with 2 x 150W pendants + T5HO. Span carries the exact same model but instead of 2 x 150W its 250W. (This model comes with the fans + external ballast)

They have another Solite Type 3, now these fellas come with 2 x 150W or 2 x 250W without the T5HOs and without the exhaust fans but with external ballast.

Confirmed from both AquaMarin & Span, the distributor or rather in this case according to them, the manufacturer stopped making the 2 x 150W Solite Type 3 (with the fans).

Now I am confused.
SO they no longer have 1x 150W MH + T5 already?

Agree with Greyfox, indeed its a fine piece of design allows you to temporarily lock your lightset at the speificed height your want.

Solite light do offer it as an additional accessories

Oh, i brought the additional accessories, it was easy to operate just press the knob and leave up/down the lightset...looks kinda posh too, hanging that pieces of slim, matt black color powder coated lightset in the mid air....can imagine

Guys, I still haven't bought my lights. Had decided on the Solite type 4 T5 set but it is out of stock and span has no idea when stock coming... So back on drawing board.

I'm running a marine tank so I guess Type 3 Pro would be suitable for me, but the new type 3 comes only in 250w MH so I'm worried about the heat... I don't want my chiller to work non-stop.

What do you guys think?

I have plunged for the Giesemann.
I saw the Giesemann at work at ReefDepot. Although it doesn't have those diamond reflectors, but I am impressed with the spread. It covered a 2.5ft depth tank very well.
