    HI all, may I know the name of this fish (english & scientific)? was given 2 of these from a friend. What's the meaning of SAE anyway?

    this is Puntius denisonii or Denison's Barb. A native of India and belonging to the family of fishes called Cyprinids (which includes barbs and carps).

    Tetras are from South America, belonging to the family Characidae which is distributed in South and central America and some on the west coast of Africa (which was once conjoined with eastern Amazonia.)
    why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.
