    Dear Experts,
Is there such a thing as bacteria soil? I recently set up two tanks with recommendation from LFS. At the LFS there was a low-tech 3ft planted tank, crystal clear water (using canister filter) and lots of healthy plants on orange/brown substrate, lighting was under aquarium hood, i think T5 lighting. According to the LFS guy, there is little secret -- just use his bacteria soil and treat with BIO 31 bacteria powder everyday for one week initially, then once a week subsequently. You will have a clear tank and healthy plants and fish.

Anyway, i have decided my new tanks will follow this method and so far yet to clear the first week but the tanks are doing well.

I know there are lots of ADA followers here and I have no doubt the ADA method works. But can I find out if anyone else in this forum follows this bacteria soil method?

    Thanks,
    Phil AA
